The Good Farmer and the Worried Donkey by Hannah E. Harrison book review
📚✨ BOOK REVIEW | The Good Farmer and the Worried Donkey by Hannah E. Harrison
If you’re looking for a sweet, meaningful book to add to your little one’s bookshelf, The Good Farmer and the Worried Donkey by Hannah E. Harrison is a MUST. 🤎
This book truly brought a smile to my face......and, honestly, it left me in a little bit of deep thought, too.
Charlie is a small donkey who worries that he isn’t strong enough, that he might disappoint his farmer, and that if he doesn’t do everything just right, he might no longer be wanted. But Charlie soon discovers something beautiful about his Good Farmer: He is patient, wise, understanding, and strong. Charlie doesn’t have to carry his worries alone.
Through Charlie’s story, children are gently introduced to biblical truths about trusting God, casting our cares on Him, and understanding that we each have a special place and purpose.
I especially loved the way this story brought Matthew 11:28–30 to life, “his yoke is easy and his burden is light.” 🌾
And while this book is written for children, I found myself thinking about my own experienced with my Heavenly Father and feeling incredibly thankful for the reminder that God cares for us, loves us, and is strong enough to carry the things that feel too heavy for us.
What a beautiful message to tuck into the hearts of our little ones, and a sweet reminder for us grown-ups, too. 🤍
🌾 A beautiful addition to a faith-filled children’s bookshelf this fall!
