Chapter Six: Bread Beginnings, Beautiful Birthdays, and a Whole Lot of Love

Whew. If I could sum up this summer so far in one word, it would be unexpected—but in the sweetest, loveliest kind of way. Between the cooler-than-usual temps and the surprise rain showers, we’ve actually been able to enjoy so much time outside. And honestly, that alone feels like a gift.

Funnest part of the season thus far - celebrating Ferdinand and Olive’s 5th doggy birthday. I still can’t believe those two fluffy babies are five already. Of course, they were spoiled with treats, belly rubs, and all the extra attention they 100% believe they deserve.

In other (major!) news—Honey Butter Bread is taking some BIG steps! I’ve been setting up to sell my homemade bread at She Brews Coffee Shop in Brownfield, and y’all… I still can’t believe I’m typing that. Baking was never something I imagined myself doing. But here I am, flour-covered, heart full, and completely blown away by what God is unfolding. That little dream that I didn’t even know I had, is turning into something real—and delicious—and I am so, so grateful.

Now, on the flip side of all the sweetness… house hunting has been a whole other story. It's been a roller coaster ride, and not the fun kind of ride. It's been the kind that leaves you sick to your stomach and wondering why you got on this ride to begin with. I'm sure I'll share more later but for now, please just keep us in your prayers as we continue down the road to home ownership!

Despite the unfortunate rollercoaster ride, this summer has still held so many joyful little moments. We’ve had the funnest family movie nights, date nights that remind me just how much I love doing life with my husband, and some much-needed quality time with my sweet Aunt Ofelia who visited from Colorado. I also had lunch with my Aunt Ofelia and one of my other aunts (Aunt Barbara), and let me tell you—nothing beats being surrounded by strong, beautiful women who’ve helped shape who you are. Love them!

And something I’m extra thankful for? New friendships. I’ve met some lovely women this month and can’t wait to nurture those connections. It feels like God is placing just the right people in this season.

Oh, and Kenley—my sweet girl. Watching her bloom into such a kind, thoughtful, growing-young-lady has been the biggest blessing of all. The extra time together has made my cousin heart so full.

So yes, this season has had its ups and downs… but in so many ways, this has been one of the best summers yet.

Thanks for reading another little life update—my monthly “chapter.”
See you in Chapter Seven… where, Lord willing, we’ll either be in our dream home (or at least under contract to a different dream home - IYKYK), have fresh bread on the shelf, and even more sweet stories to share. 🤍

Until next month.....take care of you!

XOXO,
