Chapter 8: Settling In & Soaking Up the Moments

August was full of work work work.......and a little bit of fun!
One of the most memorable breaks in the middle of busy was a double date with our dear friends, Jeremiah and Analissa, at The Porch Venue. Between laughter-filled games and shooting glow-in-the-dark clay with rifles (yes, it was as awesome as it sounds!), it was the kind of night that reminds you how much joy is found in simple, shared fun with good friends. We were in the middle of moving but we needed that time for a break and a breather from all the busy.

We also celebrated our sweet pup Mistletoe’s 6th birthday, because dog birthdays deserve a little extra celebration too. 🐾
Mid-month brought a cute karaoke afternoon with my favorite baristas at my favorite local coffee shop.

We also had a bittersweet goodbye dinner for our sweet Kenley as she headed back to college for the fall. I sure am gonna miss that girl!

And I can't forget the start of harvest season for our jujubes. 🍎Sadly, this will be the last harvest with this beautiful orchard that I have nurtured...... but I'll be ok. I'm sad to leave the orchard but extremely excited about the new adventures we will be having in the new home!

August also brought some fall creative time! I got to create my first fall bouquet for the season, which brought a little glimpse of autumn beauty into the house before the season officially starts. And to round out the month, I had brunch and coffee with a fellow writer and friend who recently moved back home to Lubbock, a sweet reminder of how God weaves community into our lives in just the right seasons.
All in all, August was about moving in, celebrating, and cherishing the people and moments that make this life so rich.
Praying that September will be the first big exhale in our new house with routine taking root, and a sense of home blooming!
Until next chapter my friends, take care of you!
XOXO,
Cryssie
